Parade Participation Guidelines

Please review the following rules before completing your parade application. These guidelines ensure a safe, festive, and enjoyable event for everyone!

1.      All Entries Must Be Lit

Every entry — including walking groups — must feature lights.

2.      Entry Limit

The parade will include up to 60 entries. Applications are reviewed for theme, entertainment value, and creative use of lights (clear or colored).

3.      Animal Entries

Animals are welcome but must remain leashed at all times. If a vehicle accompanies your animals, both the vehicle and the animals must have lights.

4.      Pre-Approval Required

Only pre-approved entries are allowed. Applications close at the end of business on Thursday before the event.

5.      Entry Standards

Parade organizers reserve the right to reject any entry deemed inappropriate, in poor taste, or not in the best interest of the parade.

6.      No Political or Controversial Entries

Entries representing political organizations, candidates, or issues will not be accepted.

7.      Size Limits

Maximum height: 12.6 feet. Maximum width: 8.6 feet.

8.      Forward Motion Required

Entries must keep moving at all times. No routines or maneuvers that slow parade flow.

9.      Identification & Messaging

Entries must display the organization’s name. Holiday messages are encouraged! Please avoid sales or commercial advertising.

10.  Vehicle Requirements

Drivers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. A copy of the license and vehicle insurance must be submitted at least one week before the parade.

11.  Sound Guidelines

Please limit sirens and horns to preserve the holiday atmosphere.

12.  Vehicle Limit

Each entry may include only one powered vehicle.

13.  Walkers

Walkers must be able to maintain the parade pace and distance.

14.  Animal Clean-Up

Equestrian and animal units must provide their own clean-up crew and equipment. Animals pulling carriages or vehicles must ensure those vehicles are lit.

15.  Parade Conduct

All participants must be respectful of residents and property along the parade route. No solicitation is allowed.

16.  Application Deadline

Applications must be received by the end of business on Thursday prior to the event.

17.  No Santa or Mrs. Claus

We’ve got the real Santa — please don’t include your own version!

18.  Cancellations

If you need to withdraw from the parade, please email ts.stephaniemitchell@gmail.com.

Thank you for helping make this year’s parade bright, safe, and full of holiday cheer!
