These parks offer a little of everything: a three-mile paved path for biking, in-line skating and running, basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, shuffle board, concession stand, fishing and canoeing.

 
Monument Park
Located in the heart of downtown Dexter, Monument Park is home to many of our annual events and our famous gazebo.  Stop by and take advantage of the numerous shade trees, the picnic tables and the beautiful views the park offers.

 
Community Park
(Formerly Wellfield Park) is located north of the new Busch's store off Ryan Drive.  The park is a 5 acre park with a pavilion available for rentals, a 1/8 mile walking path, picnic tables, play sets and bathrooms.  The park is on the east side of the Village and available for the public.

Warrior Creek Park
The Village's hidden jewel located along the Mill Creek in downtown Dexter.  The 1/2 acre park boasts access to the Mill Creek for fishing and great views of the creek.  The park is a regular stop for lunches in the summer and great retreat within the downtown.  The park is equipped with a bathroom.

 
Peace Park
Located at the corner of Ann Arbor Street and Inverness, Peace Park offers a passive recreation and relaxation.  The park has benches and gardens and is located near St. Andrews Church.

 
Lions Park
Located adjacent to the school administration building and senior center.  The park has a small restored gazebo, benches for relaxing, and is a great location for photos.

First Street Park
One of the Village's newest parks is also known as Horseshoe Park.  The park has 10 horseshoe pits and tournaments  and leagues are held throughout the summer.  The park has picnic tables and a bathroom and is located at the end of Edison Street.

 
Smith Woods
The Village's largest park, Smith Woods, is 17 acres of woodlands.  Access is available off Dexter Chelsea Road.  The park has some unimproved trails and backs up to the railroad tracks.  Parking is available inside the gate.

 

Beaches

 
Independence Lake
Public beach open 8 AM to dusk Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Located off Jennings Road between Six Mile and N. Territorial Road.  For more information, contact Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation at (734) 971-6337.
