Independence Lake, a park for all seasons, is open year round!  Independence Lake County Park has grown with the Washtenaw County community.  Since its opening in 1980, park users have enjoyed active recreation activities including fishing, boating, volleyball, and horseshoes.  Also included in our lake activities is a boat launch with access for row boats, canoes, and kayaks (row boats are also available for rent).  Other seasonal recreation experiences are ice-fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.  Independence Lake offers a sandy and swimming as well as picnic areas great for a family gathering.  There are four pavilions of various sizes to accommodate small groups to several hundred people allowing for birthday parties, family reunions, weddings and company picnics.  The Spray Zone feature includes interactive sprays and showers as well as geysers, jet streams and foamies.
