Antique Appraisal Day at Dexter Area Museum
May 20, 2017
The Dexter Heritage Guild will present their annual Antique Appraisal Day on Saturday, May 20th from 9:30 – 3:30 at the Dexter Area Museum.
Three certified appraisers from DuMouchelles Art Gallery in Detroit will explain and give individual verbal appraisals. The appraisers’ areas of interest range from sports memorabilia, historical pieces, war-time memorabilia, toys, trains, paintings, oriental rugs, quilts, fiber arts, silver, pottery, porcelain, collectible figurines and crystal.
Appointments are 15 minutes for 1-3 items and there is a fee of $7.00 per item appraised. For appointments call: 734-424-9998. On the day of the event, call: 734-426-2519. Gordon Hall Days: A Country Fair
Event Date: June 17-18, 2017
The annual Gordon Hall Days will be held on Saturday, June 17th and Sunday June 18th. from 10 to 5 both days with the Country Dance on Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
This year's theme will be a Country Fair complete with reminiscent of the past. We are looking into a "Midway" with booths full of games for all ages, a threshing demonstration, the Lions Food Wagon, popcorn booth, Cotton Candy, train rides, a petting zoo, and other activities. Special events will include Gordon Hall tours, a Tea and Fashion show, a Country Dance and our famous Pie Auction.

Plein Air Festival
Event Date: August, 2017
For the 4th year in a row, under the curious and watchful eye of the public, local and visiting artists will paint for four days in and around Dexter.
The festival culminates with a two-day exhibit and silent auction of all competition artwork in the Tent Gallery in Monument Park.
Activities include a friendly competition for professional and emerging artists, a quick-draw painting competition, a NEW Professional Artist Small Works Exhibit, a silent auction and artwork sale, and other events that will be arranged and announced on the Schedule of Events.

Apple Daze Festival

Every year The Dexter Lions Club sponsors Apple Daze in celebration of one of Michigan's most famous products. Come down to Monument Park and try delicious food, music and more!

Dexter After Dark

On select evenings at dusk, Downtown Dexter comes alive to offer the community one-of-a kind shop and dine deals, prizes and retail specials. From pubs and restaurants to boutique shops and home stores, select retail establishments will be open from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM offering one-day-only sales specials and giveaways. Restaurants will be open until closing. Participating stores and restaurants will be marked with special white balloons. Come out and be a part of the delightful Downtown Dexter scene!

Holiday Hustle 5K

Naughty or nice, walker or runner, come breathe in the December night air, BURN A FEW HOLIDAY CALORIES and give back to others. A silly, hilly out and back course that will take in the neighborhood light displays and give you a chance to see the flashing gang ahead or behind you!

Dexter Area Historical Society & Museum Holiday Events

A Night at the Museum
The Dexter Are Historical Society will host a fund raiser for the Dexter Area Museum on Friday, November 18 from 7-9 PM. "A Night at the Museum" will highlight the exhibits and new additions to the Museum and feature a new video presentation on the architecture of Dexter. Cost is $25 per person, payable at the door and tax deductible. The evening will also include adult beverages and hearty hors d'oeuvres. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Museum at 734-426-2519.
Christmas at the Mansion
A Family Tradition at Gordon Hall. Saturday December 3, 9am to 5pm. This year featuring the Christmas Village Collection, a magical display of Milt Campbell's huge collection of Department 56 villages. After a visit with Santa, children can make a gingerbread house to take home. All of the rooms in Gordon Hall will be decorated. For more information call 734-426-3341
If Teapots Could Talk
Christmas Tea. Sunday December 4. Seatings at 1pm and at 4pm. The event will feature tea, served with a light lunch and dessert, in addition to a self-guided tour of historic Gordon Hall and the magical Christmas Village Collectionon display at Gordon Hall this year for the first time in 14 years. The Christmas Village Collection
Open House at Gordon Hall. Gordon Hall will host open houses from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday December 10, Sunday December 18, Tuesday December 27, and Wednesday December 28. Visitors will tour the Christmas Village Collection, a magical display of Milt Campbell's huge collection of Department 56 villages. This collection was traditionally seen in the windows of Huron Camera in downtown Dexter throughout the holiday season. Suggested donation: $5/adult. For more information call 734-426-3341,
